Привет всем.
Проблема следующая - поставил centos на ноут acer 5103WLMi. Возникли следующие проблемы:
wifi карта не определяется, хотя делал все как сказано здесь, карта так и не определилась.

Другая проблема возникла с usb - после загрузки системы вставить флешку, она определится. Но если вынуть и снова вставить, то получаем:

И так с любым usb устройством.

Следующая проблема возникла с принтером samsung scx-4200. Скачал дрова с оф. сайта поставил, все встало.
Но при печате через веб интерфейс cups вначале получал: Unable to start filter "rastertosamsungspl" - Permission denied
Потом нашел где-то в нете, что надо сделать так:

restorecon /usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertosamsung*
chown root:root /usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertosamsung*

Сделал, проблема исчезла, но появилась другая:"Failed to load the PPM image"

А вообще CentOS у вас используется как десктоп???
Как то мой знакомый линуксоид попрекнул меня, когда я решил использовать CentOS (а он серверный ОС) как десктоп

То что серверный, тем лучше - стабильность хорошая, для работы самое то. Дома вообще FreeBSD стоит. На этот комп бы бсд поставил, но чел который за ним работает не потянул бы, а я не всегда рядом, чтобы подсказать.

Кстати, проблему с вай-фай я решил. Осталась проблема с usb, не знаю че делать. Биос обновлял, систему тоже - не помогло.
Еще странность, когда флешка определяется(это происходит только при перезагрузке), то при простое(если долго к ней не обращаться) она отключается с таким ругательством в /var/log/message:

Десктопный ОС не обязательно Вынь...

подразумевается, что в десктопном ОС уже предустановлены пользовательские программы как мессенджеры, плееры, и разного рода программы используемые в повседневной жизни юзерами. например Mandriva Linux!

чего не скажешь о CentOS - он сам по себе уже идет как серверный дистрибутив.
