FreeBSD 8 & RAID

Добрый день, уважаемые коллеги.

Прошу вас по возможности помочь мне, начинающему пользователю FreeBSD, разобраться со следующей проблемой.
В компании NIX был куплен следующий сервер - http://www.nix.ru/autocatalog/server_sy ... 74055.html

И к сожалению FreeBSD при попытке установить систему с "0" не видит ни RAID-массива (RAID1), ни дисков по раздельности (когда разрушаю рейд-массив). Говорит "No disk found..."
Windows Server 2008 R2 видит и RAID и диски по раздельности. Ubuntu 10 Linux тоже всё видит.

Но по ряду причин я бы хотел, чтобы на этом сервере стоял именно FreeBSD.
Я пробовал FreeBSD 8.1/8.2 как x86 так и x64.

Видимо какие-то проблемы с драйверами под данный RAID-контроллер...
Подскажите пожалуйста, в какую сторону мне копать?

Извините за нубский вопрос, но может быть, необходимо привести ешё какую-нить информацию?

Вы хотите сказать, что с данным RAID-контроллером не получится установить FreeBSD ?

совсем не факт что получиться.
как правило сначала народ советуется, а уж потом покупает.
вы сделали наоборот.

Благодарю за совет. В я так и планирую сделать.
Не могли бы вы подсказать (по возможности с того же сайта www.nix.ru) конфигурацию сервера с хорошим RAID -контроллером (или просто хороший RAID-контроллер для RAID1 или RAID5), который будет работать с FreeBSD 8.2 x64.

Как снять dmesg и pciconf с машины, на которой еще не установлен FreeBSD ?

Не хочу создавать новую тему, обрисую ситуацию здесь.
Есть сервак на материнке Supermicro P4SCT+ http://www.supermicro.com/products/moth ... P4SCT_.cfm , + 4 HDS722580VLSA80. В настройках RAID создал массив RAID10 и того вышло 153 GB. В процессе установки Free 8.1 видны имеющиеся диски : ad4,ad6,ad8,ad10, а также созданный массив ar0. При попытке установить в ar0 выдает:Unable to make new root filesystem on /dev/ar0s1a! и на этом процесс заканчивается! С RAID1 та же картина :(
Отключал raid ставил на 1 диск после установки все останвливается на мигающем курсоре.На raid ставлю в первый раз, сильно не пинать! Прошу помощи!

Скинул БИОС...
И даже на всякий случай "разломал" RAID (думал, что может он по одному диску увидит?).
И всё тоже самое.

Чорт побери.

Конечно же, "таблетку" мы не покупали.
Может быть проблема именно в этом?
Тогда почему винда видит рейд? Да и линукс тоже.

В завершение, прошу вас таки посоветовать "нормальный" RAID-контроллер (уровень 1 или 5, под серверные платформы, устанавливаемый в 1U или 2U), с которым у FreeBSD 8.х не будет проблем.
Или может быть действительно лучше использовать RAID-массив построенный средствами самой FreeBSD (gmirror)?

Софтверный RAID будет лучше.
Если средствами ZFS строить отказоустойчивое хранилище на сервере, то потребуется минимум 4 ГБ ОЗУ на каждый пул и минимум 8 ГБ на RAID-Z1(2).
Если использовать GEOM, то накладных расходов на память не будет, зато потребуется больше дисков, так как GEOM не умеет RAID-5 — придётся создавать RAID-10. (GEOM RAID-5 сейчас в коллекции портов, а не в самой системе, поэтому гарантии качество его работы не такие, как у самой системы.)
