Что делать? куда копать?

а почему у вас оба интерфейса смотрят в одну подсеть? так и должно быть?

Да, так задумано, проводной интерфейс будет отключен.

ifconfig не меняется.
Заметил, что если провод выдернуть, и выключить проводной интерфейс, то начинает работать беспроводной.
Однако, если перезагрузиться, при выдернутом шнуре, то беспроводной работать не начинает.

И еще, при запуске беспроводного интерфейса выскакивает сообщение
iwi0:need multicast update callback
это возникает, если в wpa_supplicant.conf поставить scan_ssid=1, в любом другом случае карта не цепляется к точке доступа.

флюшить таблицу маршрутизации. должно помочь.
при загрузке поднимается сначала интерфейс rl0, и маршрут для этой подсети присваивается через него.
потом вы поднимаете второй - и даже если дёргаете провод - пакеты идут на первый и никуда, соответственно не уходят.
вообще изначально неправильно всё настроено ! не должны 2 интерфейса в одну подсеть смотреть!!!!

А как сделать, следующий сценарий?
У меня дома есть внешнее хранилище на котором музыка, фильмы и данные.
При необходимости скачать что то большое, я включаю провод, при прослушивании музыки и серфинге, провод отцепляю, и пользуюсь беспроводным интерфейсом.

честно - даже и не знаю, что посоветовать в такой ситуации.
может быть гуру помогут более дельным советом.

я советую на вашем сетевом хранилище прописать алиас из подсети 192.168.2.0 (к примеру), и соответственно rl0 присвоить значение из этого диапазона. и ходить туда соответственно при необходимости через адрес 192.168.2.х
