Два монитора на двух разных видеокартах
Доброго времени суток!
Решил использовать лишний CRT-монитор, но никак не могу завести двухголовую конфигурацию.
У меня две видеокарты: ATI Radeon 9250 и S3 Trio 64V+. О том, что изображение подается только на первичный адаптер, выставленный в BIOS, вне зависимости от настроек, я уже написал багрепорт: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22719
Надо будет еще написать багрепорт о том, что при использовании двух выходов ATI Radeon 9250 клонирует изображения вне зависимости от настроек xorg.conf.
Я понимаю, что решение моей проблемы наверное, затянется надолго. Поэтому я хочу обсудить альтернативные методы решения.
Итак задача: ну хоть как-то выдать изображение на второй монитор.
1. Запустить второй X-сервер с использованием драйвера fbdev, а затем объединить сервера при помощи x2x или xorg-dmx. Но тут проблема. Как подключить устройство fbdevhw? Система не может его найти, а в man-странице написано, что драйвер есть для Linux.
2. Включить на мониторе вторую текстовую консоль и выводить информацию туда. Возможно ли такое? Управлять ею можно будет через screen или watch. Помню, когда-то, еще в DOS, подключали два монитора - один графический, другой монохромный для более удобной отладки программ.
3. Запустить виртуальную машину (или программу), которая может напрямую обращаться к устройству по PCI ID. Пока нашел для этого эмулятор Bochs. Я его еще не пробовал, но у него есть недостаток - при простое виртуальная машина занимает много процессорного времени. Есть ли какие-нибудь программы-терминалы, которым можно указать мой "vgapci2" в качестве вывода?
P.S.
1. У кого-то вообще работает конфигурация, описанная в сабже? Если есть возможность, проверьте с двумя видеоадаптерами (AGP+PCI или PCI+PCI), пожалуйста. Можно даже использовать драйвера vesa + vesa.
2. У кого один видеоадаптер - можно ли запустить иксы, использовав в качестве драйвера fbdev?
3. Единственная конфигурация, которая у меня заработала - это vga + vga на xorg-server-1.4.1. Драйвер, оказывается, сейчас сломан. Ну как это они умудрились сломать такой стандартый драйвер, которому уже больше двадцати лет?!!
4. Если в BIOS выставить первичным адаптером PCI-карту - проблема остается, только весь вывод идет уже на второй монитор.

Да, была, но это была одна видеокарта и два мониторавроде как то уже поднимали похожую проблему
Его очень легко воспроизвести. Я повторю фрагмент своего багрепорта по-русски:вы бы что ли конфиг иксовый приложили сюда (да и в баг репорт тоже)
Берем работающий xorg.conf для одного монитора.

I didn't manage to get two different videoadapters running on Xorg.
My operating system and software versions:
FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE
xorg-server-1.6.1,1
xf86-video-vesa-2.1.0_1
xf86-video-ati-6.12.2_1
I have two videocards: ATI Radeon 9250 on AGP slot and S3 Trio64V+ on PCI slot
(S3 works only with "vesa" driver on Xorg).
Before applying dual-monitor configuration, I want to test monitors separately.
I take working single-monitor xorg.conf:

Image goes to first monitor, ATI, this is normal.

Image have to display to the second monitor, but it goes to first monitor

screen, graphical part goes to second monitor.

When I set AGP as primary adapter in BIOS, everything draws on first monitor,
if PCI - on second monitor, regardless what BusID value (PCI:1:0:0 or
PCI:2:7:0) is set in xorg.conf.
If I try dual-monitor xorg.conf, two desktops simply draws to the same screen -
for example: pointer goes out from left edge and appears from the right side.
