Привет всем.
Имеется ноут с FreeBSD 8.1-RELEASE. Стоят Х-ы с и fluxbox. Х стартует через XDM. При старте XDM приглашение для ввода логина и пароля периодически виснет. По startx захожу без проблем.

Такая хрень началась после того, как поставил VirtualBox - может совпадение, а может и нет. До VirtualBox все работало. portupgrade -fR xdm не помогло.

Как я понял у вас карточка то ATI, попробуйте запустить с драйвером VESA.
Предскажем будущее hw по логам и дампу, снимем сглаз и порчу с рута, поможем придумать пароль(С)

Поставьте драйвер VESA и киньте лог сюда. Разницы нет каким DM запускать, у вас сам X-сервер не запускается, попробуйте заново создать xorg.conf

Кстати, несмотря на то, что xdm мертвый (т.е. логин и пароль не могу ввести) Ctrl+Alt+F1...F9 работает.

По startx у вас запускаются иксы? xorg.conf пробовали заново создавать? выложите xorg.conf, rc.conf.
Предскажем будущее hw по логам и дампу, снимем сглаз и порчу с рута, поможем придумать пароль(С)

заметил тут, что даже если по startx захожу, то по ttyv0 иногда выскакивает что-то типа:

Предскажем будущее hw по логам и дампу, снимем сглаз и порчу с рута, поможем придумать пароль(С)

установите emulators/virtualbox-ose-additions 3.2.10
Предскажем будущее hw по логам и дампу, снимем сглаз и порчу с рута, поможем придумать пароль(С)

Да, ставил (я уже снес virtualbox). Вааще-то я его пытался поставить без Х-ов. Может это как-то повлияло. Хотя странно все это.
